Frozen Banana Leaves is a product made from fresh banana leaves, rolled up, placed in bags and frozen.

What is banana leaf used for?

In Vietnam, banana leaves are used for the main purpose of making a package of traditional cakes such as banh chung, banh tet, banh gio, etc., or sticky rice packets (Similar to Frozen leaves). The amount of banana leaves in Vietnam is always stable all year round, the price is low and usually only increases at the peak of Tet.

How to produce Frozen Banana Leaves

The leaves are harvested and transported to the factory. Here, workers will conduct leaf classification and start to produce this product

Fresh banana leaves
Banana Leaves are cut vertically, the good leaves will be picked up, damaged leaves will be removed or used for other products. The selected leaves are usually 80 to 120 cm long or cut to the size required by the customer
Fresh Banana Leaves will be washed
Fresh Banana Leaves will be washed with clean water and cleaned with a soft cloth
Banana leaves are rolled
The leaves are stacked and quantified according to customer requirements, usually the weight of a Banana Leaves bag is 500g or 1kg. And they are rolled before being put into a bag
Banana leaves are vacuum packed
To ensure the leaves are not broken during transport, the banana leaves will be vacuum packed, then they are frozen at a negative temperature of 40 to minus 35 degrees Celsius.
