Frozen Cassava (frozen manioc, tapioca, yucca) as well as products from cassava is one of 13 key products of Vietnam to export in 2019.
During the Vietnam War, Cassava was used as food so it was grown everywhere. Today when rice becomes the main food, cassava become commodities. so the scale of growing Cassava is more, and the application of science and technology to agriculture, the quality and yield of Cassava increase dramatically, they are processed into many different products.

Cassava export data
In 2017, cassava and products from cassava export to China reached 76.3 thousand tons.
In 2018, the amount of cassava and cassava products exported from Vietnam to reduce, but export to Korea increased by 203.5% in volume and increased by 401.5% in value compared to August 2017, reaching 20.06 thousand ton.
Other markets such as Europe, America, Australia and New Zealand are slight increase.
The Frozen Cassava production process
The best time to harvest Cassava is about 8-11 months after plating. After harvesting, cassava is transported immediately to store, avoiding long-term sun exposure in the fields and reducing the quality. Farmers cut tubers out of the tree, selected good cassava roots, standard size and moved to the factory.
In factory, cassava tubers are recruited and then washed with a automatic machine.
Tubers will be peeled and washed several times. Depending on the requirements of customers, cassava tubers are cut, sliced or cut into cubes
After peeling, they are soaked in to reduce cyanide content and washed several times with water.
The cut tubes are frozen directly or packed, vacuum and frozen
The Frozen Cassava have a shelf life of 24 months, if they are stored at -18 degrees Celsius
Cassava roots is a nutritious food, in addition to boiled or steamed cassava, frozen grated cassava is used to make many cakes. In cassava contains a high fiber content to help us have a long feeling of fullness, suppressing appetite is very effective for those who want to lose weight.
